Tyler Giles

Sad songs, honest ones.

“Giles has an approachable, sincere vocal style that reminds me of classic country music. This one’s sure to tug on some heart strings.”Ear to the Ground · on “Time Don’t Heal”

Where the music lives now

Muddy Ribbon

Cheyenne and I are a folk duo. We write about heartbreak, hard work, and home, and we mean every word. The name is the Missouri River, the muddy ribbon between her Kansas and my Missouri.

My story

Ten years on the road

I spent the better part of ten years on the road as a solo artist and as a pedal steel and lead guitarist for several bands, including Porter Union, The Brothers Roberson, Dusty Rust, and The Harmed Brothers. Ten countries and most of the United States later, I settled in Kansas City and hosted a weekly songwriter night, Writers on the Rocks, at the Westport Saloon.

When the pandemic hit the music world, it took Porter Union with it and left me without a home for my creative drive. I built a home recording setup, taught myself the ropes of DIY recording, and started working on my own songs.

Since then, Cheyenne and I have recorded every instrument ourselves and filmed our own music videos, including To Have & To Hold and Long Haul.

“People would love Tyler’s music if anybody knew who he is.”

Dylan Dorrell

“I’ve never heard him play a song I didn’t like.”
